Flywheel is excited to present this public screening of the documentary film on Slint included on the soon to be released Spiderland box set. Director Lance Bangs, says the film "is about Slint and the Louisville music culture they emerged from. It includes footage going back to the early 1990s that I shot when repeatedly driving up from Athens, GA to Louisville to try to chase rumors of what these guys were up to. Over the years I tracked down more stories about them, then began filming interviews with each of the band members and their contemporaries. We also unearthed some unseen/uncirculated footage from their few live performances as well as the writing and arranging of Spiderland."

Radical Dads is a band that has come unstuck in time. The constituent parts are Robbie Guertin (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah), Lindsay Baker, and Chris Diken, who play drums, guitar, and another guitar, respectively. They first laid ears on each other in the ancient mythic age known as the late 1990s, and formed the band in the post-crash period of 2008. The band's latest album was released halfway through vortex 2013. All of Radical Dads' music exists in the present and is yours to keep.
GRASS IS GREEN
Boston's Grass Is Green hearken back to a time when the lines between post-hardcore and indie rock weren't so clearly defined. Listening to their 2012 album, Ronson, and split 7" with Two Inch Astronaut, both out on Exploding In Sound Records (Pile, Speedy Ortiz), you'll quickly make out traces of the stop-start post-hardcore of bands like Shudder to Think and June of 44. The guitars ring with that kind of off-kilter technicality and the vocalists shout with an emotionally charged cry.

songs that envelope and overtake the listener, with clear and urgent vocals that swell with delay, blasts of noise and reservoirs of reverb to create some of the best and exciting music being made today. Haunting and striking, melodic and inviting, driving and innovative, these are songs that stay with you, these are songs you will remember.
THE UKIAH DRAG
The Ukiah Drag are Floridians in New England exile: haunted by grave, aberrant definitions of post punk and rock n' roll and what it ultimately means for the Superego to be blitzed by the Id. The DIRT TRIP single wields a heavy creep-beat that cleans your dusty clock and takes you for a bourbon afterwards; its slide guitar and echoplex'd vocals trail bloodthirsty sultans into synesthetic merriment.
